Bob Marley, born Robert Nesta Marley on 6 February 1945 in Nine Miles, Jamaica, and died on 11 May 1981 in Miami, USA, is a Jamaican singer-songwriter, singer and musician. Bob Marley met with worldwide success during his lifetime, and remains to this day the most famous and venerated musician of reggae, while being considered as the one who allowed Jamaican music and the Rastafarian movement to reach a worldwide audience. He has sold over 200 million records worldwide.
